The new Avigilon security suite gives customers the flexibility needed to adapt to emerging security challenges and technology changes. It is an extensive security platform offering cloud-native and on-premise video security and access control solutions.
ALTA & UNITY – The New Avigilon Security Suites
Avigilon Alta is entirely cloud-native. It brings together Ava Cloud Video Security and access control from Openpath. The only infrastructure elements needed are cameras, controllers and access control readers. From there this flexible AI solution uses cloud infrastructure empowering you to control your security from anywhere.
Avigilon Unity is the on-premise suite that includes Avigilon Control Center (ACC), Avigilon Cloud Services (ACS) and will soon include Access Control Manager (ACM). It is AI-powered and designed for enterpirses managing their own systems under a single centralisedand scalable solution.
How Will This Affect Existing Clients?
Quite simply its “business as usual”. There are no material changes beyond the branding change.
Over time, customers using Ava and/or Openpath will see the products come together to form the Avigilon Alta cloud-native suite. This will mean a similar user experience, tighter integration, enhanced video and access control capability.
For Avigilon ACC and ACS clients it is a simple merge to form Avigilon Unity which will soon include ACM.
Right now, there is no plan to make Avigilon Alta and Avigilon Unity interoperable.
There will be no changes to hardware except for the brand changes that will begin to roll out in the coming months.
The software functionality is not changing.
The websites fo Openpath ( www.openpath.com ) and Ava ( www.avasecurity.com ) will be added to Avigilon’s website ( www.avigilon.com ) – probably sometime in May 2023.
